I was running with my friends at school.
Mr. Scott asked us to run in the soccer field. We had to run with a partner and the winner is the one who can climb the tree stump. I feel happy after running. (Nico)

Unit of inquiry 2 -  Central idea - Maps allow people to understand their place in the world
Grade 3 - 5 have been learning about Mapping. These are some activities they did at school.

Robin and me were searching for the volcano places. We found some and we made them in Microsoft Word and we had to place them in the exact place they are in. This is about volcano mapping. (Jordi)

In Bahasa Indonesia  we also learn about interesting places to visit and showed them on an Indonesian map. (Dyllan)

We were doing area so we made a COUNTRY. Each country has a different amount of area to do with our partners. We replaced the blocks with patterns. (Avi)

The area of objects
We were learning about how to measure the area of objects. We measured the things we brought to school. Rectangles, triangles, squares, circles and then we measured them  and recorded the area in our math book.

 Coffee Painting

This is the coffee painting inspired by Mohammad. He comes from Burma and went to Australia. He stayed at a detention center, so we did the same thing and here is the picture of our paintings Mohammad used coffee to paint because there were no paint in the detention center. (Dyllan)

This is the video of Angklung performance in Assembly.

This is video of Choir.

JASIS SPORTS DAY

On Saturday we had JASIS with other schools in Kebun Raya. On the picture we had aerobic before we start the games.

We knew that we were the smallest school but we still work hard, so we would not come last. We had a good time. Robin

I had sprint race and I got 3rd place yay! (Dyllan)

At flipper run, the flipper was so small.
and my feet is big. I tried to put it on and it was hard.
I came second and NZIS  went first.(Robert)

I was doing ball relay, I felt kind of nervous because I voted and turned out it was fun.
No one cares about winning, it is all about enjoying and having fun.
(Jordi)

Angklung performance

I was playing angklung for the performance in Taman Mini.
We had to memorize the numbers and play it well.
(Tama)

Gymnastics

We were doing gymnastic. Pak Sigit was teaching us gymnastic. He teaches us how to do rolls, jumps and other stretching. Sometimes is difficult and sometimes is easy.(Avi)

Rosemary Cadden

We had Rosemary Cadden came to our school because she wants to tell about her journey in Stuart Higway.
She said that she didn't live in the caravan but in the small tent by herself. I like listening her story. (Prince)

Being curiousity

I learned addition in classroom. It was easy.
Ibu Hasanah helped me how to count numbers. I like maths. (Nico)

There was The Melbourne Cup, then we made horses because the Melbourne cup is a horse race.(Alaka)

Personal Project

This is the Spoke relay we did at Personal Project.  We had to be in our house group. It was pretty hard because you have to pass the person behind you. I was with YeJin and Nico, but we lost even though we tried our best. (Gaby)

Spelling test

The spelling test was fun (not for me) and it was very strange because it was hard at the start (hey why does Tama @nd Ye-Jin have their journals) and got easy at the end. -*********

Batu Tapak Camp - Cidahu - Sukabumi

Grade 3 to 5 went on camping to Batu Tapak in Sukabumi.  We stayed over night for 3 days.
The view from the camp site looks very nice.
You could do many activities organized by Batu Tapak staff like flying fox, sky walking, waterfall hiking and some games.
The shower was nice and there is hot water. At night we had a camp fire and we ate marshmallows. They also give nice food, drinks and snacks. (Avi)

On the second day we wanted to go hiking to the waterfall.
Mr. Scott told us to tidy up our tents before we leave the camp site.
The girls were the first to have a tidy tent.
Before we go to the waterfall, we had breakfast at the cafeteria.(Nathan)

Games

We had really fun games to play and we played on the camping area where we could climb rocks. They were huge ones. We climbed up and sat on them.
We had a game called skipping rope. The boys had trouble jumping because they didn't know the precision distance/time to jump.
We also played bulldozer. We used a long plastic mat to move like a bulldozer then we had to pick up yellow and lime plastic balls.
The more you get, the more points you earn. That's how you win. (Dyllan)

Go to the Waterfall

At Batu Tapak we went and visited the amazing waterfall. We saw a water beetle as well as a man extracting sap from a tree. The girls, Gaby, YeJin, Alaka and Tama weren't scared of sky walking but they were scared of a bee. They kept saying ''sour, sour, sour!'' until the bee flew away and bothered me instead. The waterfall was an amazing sight to behold. Now I will hand over to to my friend. ******* out! (Nathan)

So basically we hiked to the waterfall and we saw our tents and we ate our snacks. (Alaka)

Students had lots of fun. They did many games. The boys were digging a home of lion ants on the ground ant and they got one. Some of them didn't know what a lion ant was.  It walks backward. They put it on their hands, then they put it back again to their homes.
On the photo Tama was staying still because there were bees around her. If you keep moving the bees will sting you, if you stay still the bees will go away.
Students made a traditional kite. They got one each and they can take it home. Woow so many experiences they got from Batu Tapak.

The games we played were Finding Virus, Sky Walk, headstands.

Rice field.

Free time.
We had finding virus game. We closed our eyes with the blindfold and we had to find the virus. The virus was a plastic bag full of water. You have to find it and squash it untill it pops.
