Holiday Bazaar dance

We had fun preparing and performing for the Holiday Bazaar. It was great when we had some audience participation. We also draw a picture of our favourite dance moves.

1 minute maths activities

We had lots of excitement with these activities awarding ourselves 1st, 2nd, 3rd and good run ribbons.

Tellytubbies

We showed a lot of commitment to complete our simple machines projects. We then individually presented them to an audience.

Couplet poems

We had our first attempt at writing poems. A couplet poem is in two parts, as in a couple with the last word of each line rhyming. We also considered respect for one another. We were authors but then had the job illustrating someone’s poem. We then presented our poems to individuals in the ELC3 and Reception class. Here are samples of some poems:

I kiss
But I still miss
Cocoons are fun
But do they grow in the sun?

I am fat
Because I ate a cat
I made a wish I want a dish
But in the end I got grilled fish
I am two and I have a tutu
Mary, my friend has one too
I had a big fright
In the night

Cinquain poem

Line 1: Title (noun) - 1 word
Line 2: Description - 2 words
Line 3: Action - 3 words
Line 4: Feeling (phrase) - 4 words
Line 5: Title (synonym) - 1 word

It was very windy at the time so we decided to write some poems relating to this. Here are some examples:
Wind
Strong, fast
The air blows
Makes me feel cold
Windy
Wind
Cold, dangerous
Howling, breaking, spinning
Makes birds feel scared
Storm
Wind
Cold, strong
Goes very quickly
Happy when going fast
Invisible

Acrostic poems
In Acrostic poems, the first letters of each line are aligned vertically to form a word.
The word often is the subject of the poem. Below are some of our poems:
Soccer is really fun says Mr. Avinab.
Pressure is not allowed in this class says Ms. Abigail
Off the field says Principal Ye Jin
Responsibility is in this class says Ms. Alaka
This P.E. lesson is about badminton says Mr. Robert

Cares for you eyes
allowed to eat raw, boiled or cooked
raw carrots are tasty for rabbits
really nutritious for you
only carrots can turn you orange
time to start eating carrots

Persuasion
What do you think? Cats make better pets than dogs?
Read what the dogs and cats have to say.
Dog 1. Hey cat. Just want to say you are dirty. You lick yourself.
Cat 1. Well that’s ok. You are so lazy you don’t want to clean yourself.
Dog 2. Hey little kitty witty. You are so lazy and weak. You don’t even know how to bite people.
Cat 2. Oh yea. You have to be trained by your owner. We already know that stuff.
Dog 3.  I am so great. I swim and save my owner when he is drowning.

Cat 3. I don’t think so. We are just peaceful.
Dog 4. Look I’m so mean.

Cat 4. But I’m so cute.

Cat 1.  Lazy people love me because I am lazy.

Dog 1.  You are not helping your lazy owner to be a healthy person.
Cat 2. Hey Mr. Little dog. You take so long to take a bath.

Dog 2.  It’s much more efficient than licking.
Cat 3. We cats can clean ourselves.

Dog 3. But I thought you hate water?
Cat 4. Meow look at me I am a beautiful cat.

Dog 4. But I am more handsome than you.

Persuasion Children today are smarter than their parents. Let’s see what the kings and queens have to say to the prince’s and princesses.

Princess Hoyeon The fact is children today are smarter than their parents because they learn from smart teachers and good lessons but parents learn that along time ago so parents forget everything.
Princess Alaka Surely children are smarter than their parents because it’s easier for children to learn things but parents have to train really, really hard, like for years.
Princess Ye Jin I know children today are smarter than parents because I am a better dancer than dad and I study at school.
Prince Jordi Others must agree that children are smarter than parents because they get to learn more stuff like using jet pack and hacking systems.
Prince Avi I really feel that children are smarter than their parents because parents teach them what they know and then the kids go to school and they learn new things their parents did not teach them.
Prince Robert The time has come to say children are smarter than their parents. Parents are born maybe in 1985 and that is a long time ago and it is in the past and now is the present with more technology. Kids know this stuff and parents don’t.
Prince Robin I’m absolutely certain children are much smarter than their parents because they have more modern schools and more information about the world.

King Clay I believe that parents are smarter than children because they know mathematics more than us when they were little.
Queen Rahma Clearly parents are smarter than children because they have experienced a longer life and have more knowledge.
King Prince the 5th of England Everyone knows that parents are smarter than children because my parents are teaching me every day and making me as strong as a gorilla.
King Dyllan In my opinion parents are smarter than children because they learn more like some business men who like to travel and that include maths.
King Nathan I’m absolutely certain parents are smarter than their children because parents know way more than kids.
Queen Gaby Without doubt parents are smarter than children because parents teach children and some teachers are parents.
King Feri Of course parents are smarter than children because my mum can cook any type of food and my dad is smart at maths.

Look into our shop window. Do you like our window display? Will you walk in the shop and purchase some lego?
